AURA’s data-driven approach to securing properties
The decrease in the value of a pound earned, and the increase in the value of a pound stolen has led to a summiting rise in crime in the UK. AURA is a security marketplace that aims to thwart the ascending crime rate pertaining to private properties, businesses and construction sites. Vandalism and loss of property will not only leave the owner dismayed but also means that the owner will have to fork out hard-earned money to repair damages.
Statistics published by the Office for National Statistics show that 195 692 residential burglaries and 81 545 non-residential burglaries occurred between January 2022 and September 2022 [1]. This equates to 1027 burglaries a day, or 43 an hour. These dire statistics are evidence that criminals are taking advantage of a stretched police force.
“AURA’s goal is to plug the burglary hole by using advanced technology, a private security network and ample data. AURA’s technology system allows us to capture granular data on burglaries in real-time. This data is processed and analysed to determine the criminal behaviour of a certain suburb. During a single callout, AURA receives hundreds of data points, ranging from geographical data to image data. Commonalities amongst callouts can then be identified as patterns start to appear. AURA’s insights are used to proactively tend to crime hotspots at certain times of the day, saving valuable seconds.” ‘Outlined Matt Grobler, Data Engineer & Analyst’.
In combination with our internal data, AURA leverages external data to generate further insights. Modern data stacks facilitate data marketplaces where external data can be bought. Traffic, weather and other natural occurrences all affect the response time of our private network. By identifying the degree to which external elements influence our response time, we gain a better understanding of the dynamics of providing world-class service.
AURA aims to pioneer the intelligent data-driven security space by using advanced technologies, combined with external data.
